Albany Mediation
Our services
Albany Mediation provides impartial family mediation services in Scotland, England and Wales, including initial assessment meetings, child arrangements mediation, financial mediation and, where appropriate, child-inclusive mediation.
Voluntary participation
Mediation is a voluntary process. Each participant is free to decide whether to begin or continue mediation.
The mediator remains impartial and does not make decisions for participants.
Confidentiality
Mediation discussions are confidential, subject to the exceptions explained in the Agreement to Mediate, including safeguarding and legal obligations.
Appointments and fees
Fees for services are published on our Fees page and confirmed when appointments are arranged.
Any applicable payment, cancellation and rescheduling arrangements will be provided before booking.
Legal advice
Family mediators provide impartial information but do not act as solicitors for either participant or provide individual legal advice.
Participants are encouraged to obtain independent legal advice where appropriate.
Agreements reached
Any proposals developed through mediation will be recorded as appropriate. Their legal status and the steps required to make them legally binding depend on the relevant jurisdiction and circumstances.
Suitability
Albany Mediation assesses whether mediation is appropriate and safe for participants. We may decline or discontinue mediation where it is unsuitable.
Complaints
Concerns about our service can be raised in accordance with our published Complaints Procedure.
